Here’s a map showing us and the bus stops nearby…

There are 5 City service buses which come near enough to us

No.12 – leaves Merchants Quay every 20mins or so, drops and collects right at the entrance to Kilbarry but last one is 5.50pm –  thanks a bunch lads

No.7 – Drops at Glenheights by the Glen Rovers pitches, 5 min walk to Kilbarry thru Hawthorn mews and onto Dublin Hill. Leaves Merchants Quay every  20 mins or so, last one 11.35pm

No.3 – Drops at the Blackpool shopping center, 10 min walk up Dublin Hill to Kilbarry (hill is a steep bastard so be warned!) Leaves Merchants Quay every 20mins, last one at 11.15pm

No.5A – leaves Merchants Quay every 20mins, drops at Blackpool shopping center. probably the most direct and quickest route. You could get off at  the old Mallow Rd. stop and take the path up into the Kilbarry estate that starts about 50mtrs beyond the railway bridge but there’s no lighting on it so not so good for winter evenings

No.1 –  This is an orbital route that serves Mayfield, Blackpool, Knocknaheeney and Bishopstown. Sems to only run at peak times mornings and evening so don’t know how practical it would be, nontheless there ya go!

At last, Bus Eireann has got their shit together and come up with routemaps on the web – you can check them out here…http://www.corkpublictransport.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&id=1&Itemid=2

you can grab a Cab or Taxi up to us…this’ll run you about €10 – €12 each way

or you could Walk the walk….this’ll take about 35mins from city center and takes you thru wonderful, historic old Blackpool. Don’t worry, there are many thirst-quenching establishments on the route:)
